Either the most interesting blog entry, or the least.

It is time for a blog entry in real time. I have more catching up to do regarding my established semi-permanent residence in San José, Costa Rica, but more pressing developments demand attention. I must inform all readers at home and abroad of an amazing discovery. Last night, at roughly 7pm Costa Rica time (9pm EST), I discovered in the AutoMercado, aisle 3, a jar of JIF Crunchy peanut butter.

Why is this discovery so novel, you ask? I have never seen Crunchy JIF before - the options have been Creamy or Extra Crunchy. No in-between. No middle ground. All or nothing. Choosy moms go big or go home. As an avid peanut butter consumer (read: addict), I have pondered the utility and correctness of this modifier "extra" over breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, and even brunches. Finally, I may munch in peace. I know someone out there has just felt their shoulders drop a little, a deep breath. Exhale, an extended blink. Simply crunchy does exist.

And so, why here? Perhaps latin american peanut butter eaters have a more discerning taste, and some actually prefer a PB thats only sort of crunchy. Perhaps. But for me, its not even worth a try. I'll stick with the EXTRA.
